Carmel & Monterey Wedding Photography on Film
As Seen In…
Wedding Photography in Carmel Valley, on Film
As a film wedding photographer based across California and Europe, I photograph the Carmel Valley and Monterey Peninsula with a documentary and editorial eye. The light here carries a particular warmth — Mediterranean in character, shaped by ancient oak and morning marine layer, warmer and more settled than the coastline just beyond the Santa Lucia Mountains.
Carmel Valley weddings unfold across some of California's most distinctive private settings — from the Tuscan villa and Italian stone pines of Stonepine Estate, to the restored 1928 hacienda at Holman Ranch with its panoramic views across the Santa Lucia range, to the private compounds of Santa Lucia Preserve and the secluded hilltop estates of the valley. Each carries its own light and its own demands on how a day is photographed.
This is where film earns its place. The grain and warmth of analogue responds to Carmel Valley light naturally — without forcing it.
As a Carmel wedding photographer originally from Europe, I photograph across Carmel, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Carmel Valley, Monterey, and the surrounding Central Coast — moving through each wedding day observationally, directing only when direction serves the image. Couples don't perform for the camera. They allow it into their world, and that is where the real images are.
If you are looking for a Carmel Valley wedding photographer who works on film and leads with instinct over direction, this is where we start.
In March 2024 Radostina received recognition by Rangefinder Magazine, New York and was named as a Rising Star of Wedding Photography.
Radostina is represented by Apartment Twenty, NY
“Radostina seamlessly blends the modern with the classic, infusing her imagery with elegance to craft pure visual poetry. She has a masterful ability to freeze time as it collides with human connection and emotion.”
“Radostina's work offers a refreshing departure from the conventional wedding photography scene and overly prescribed photos, infusing vintage film techniques to evoke nostalgia and imbue her imagery with a sense of history.”
The process…
01. Inquiry + initial consultation
It begins with your inquiry.
You share the basics — location, date, guest count — but more importantly, the feeling you’re after. I read between the lines. Taste matters here.
If it feels aligned, we schedule a call.
This is not a sales call.
It’s a conversation about vision, pace, and how you want the day to feel — not how it’s supposed to look.
02. Consultation + creative alignment
On our call, we talk about:
Your overall aesthetic and references
How you move through space
What you value (privacy, intimacy, energy, restraint)
I don’t work with pre-made packages.
Every proposal is built around your day — its rhythm, location, and scale.
If we’re a match, I create a custom proposal tailored to your celebration.
03. Booking + planning phase
Once booked, your date is secured and the planning begins.
I collaborate quietly and efficiently with your planner (or directly with you) to understand:
Timeline flow
Light and location
Key moments that matter to you, not a checklist
I don’t over-direct or over-schedule.
The goal is space — for moments to unfold naturally.
04. The wedding day
On the day itself, my presence is calm and observant.
I move between:
Documentary moments
Subtle editorial direction when needed
Film and digital capture, always led by light and emotion
No forced poses.
No performative moments.
You stay present.
I take care of the rest.
05. Film-driven editing + curation
Your images are not rushed.
Film is developed, scanned, and carefully color-balanced.
Digital images are edited to sit seamlessly alongside film — cohesive, refined, timeless.
Every gallery is intentionally curated to feel like:
A visual narrative
A memory, not a highlight reel
Something you’ll return to years from now
06. Gallery delivery
Your final gallery is delivered online in a private, beautifully designed format.
What you receive:
A complete, story-driven collection
High-resolution images for print
Web-ready images for sharing
No excess.
No filler.
Just the images that matter.
07. Prints + legacy
Your photographs are meant to live beyond the screen.
I guide you through:
Fine-art prints
Albums (designed with restraint and intention)
Archival options for long-term preservation
This is about legacy — not trends.
